LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

The Nordic Times welcomes and encourages letters to the editor. This is a chance to express your viewpoint on important issues. Letters should be limited to 250 words. They will be edited for space and legal inaccuracies, grammar and spelling. Letters must contain information pertinent to the students of NHS. the staff retains the right to not publish any letter not meeting these requirements. Unsigned letters will not be published. Please submit typed letters in person to room 225 or via e-mail to brian.hufford@adams12.org.

POLICY

The Nordic Times, a legally recognized public forum for students expression, is published six to nine times a year by the Journalism Class for students of Northglenn High School. Expression made by students in the exercise of the freedom of speech or freedom of press is not an expression of District 12 school board policy. The views expressed in the Nordic Times do not necessarily represent the views of the entire staff, adviser, NHS, administration or the District 12 administration.

Advertising Terms:

Credit customer terms are net 10 days after publication date. All accounts past due by 10 days of the following month will be assessed a 1% per month finance charge, which is 12% a year.

Advertising Services:

Artwork, typesetting, and design are all included in the price of the advertisement. Excessive changes, special effects, reverses or photos are $10 each. Advertisers may provide camera-ready slicks, or we can help you create your own advertisement. All copy must be received ten days prior to publication date.

 Advertising Policy:

The Nordic Times has the right to accept, reject, edit, or cancel any advertisement at any time. If a business pays for the advertising in advance of the publications and the staff decides to cancel the ad, money will be refunded. Advertising shall be free of statements, illustrations, or implications that are offensive to good taste or public decency based on the opinion of the staff. Advertising that offers merchandise or service on its merits, and refrain from attacking competitors unfairly or disparaging their products, services or methods of doing business. The staff may run political advertisements. The staff will not accept advertisement that is racist, sexist, illegal for high school students, or violates other standard journalistic principles (libel, obscenity, invasion of privacy, disruption). Ads which the staff accepts are not an endorsement from the staff, the advisers, the administration, or Adams 12 board of education.
