Green Day is a punk rock band that formed in 1987. The band consists of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool.
They took over the Comfort Dental Amphitheatre (better known as Fiddler’s Green) on August 28th, 2010.
The opening band was A.F.I. They were very energetic and fun to watch, performing songs from their new album “Crash Love” but also fan favorites like “Miss Murder” and “Love Like Winter.” It got especially interesting when a random person in a tiger suit walked across the stage.
As good as A.F.I. was, they were forgotten the minute Green Day stepped on the stage. It was obvious who the audience was there for. A chant of “Green Day! Green Day!” was taken up by everyone.
The audience screamed and cheered. Billie Joe proclaimed with a smirk “Whoever says the air in Colorado is thin are pansies, I can play all night.” And play they did.
Green Day has an unparalleled stage presence much to the audience’s delight, with fans ranging from little kids to the elderly; Green Day played a wide variety of songs.
The audience enjoyed songs from past albums to their newest one “21st Century Breakdown” but also ”Highway to Hell” and “Hey Jude.”
They also played a brand new song, the audience cheered for more and Billie Joe shrugged and played it again. At one point the band even dressed up like Elvis, a pirate, and a cute mouse.
The effects were amazing too. They used an amazing changing background that matched their songs. It was even better when fire shot up from the stage and the audience could feel it on their cheeks.
The Green Day concert consisted of amazing music, toilet paper guns, fire, and confetti. It was an amazing concert to remember.
