Named one of the best water parks by the Travel Channel, Water World is not only a place for family fun but also a great place for young teens to find a job. Water World offers a wide variety of positions from the cashier department to life guarding. More than half of the employees who work at Water World happen to be Northglenn High alumni or students. With more than a hundred positions offered, this seasonal job comes at a great advantage for students who are looking to make a little extra cash. Even wirth the current economy, Water World still offers the same number of positions every year.

“We probably had double the amount of applicants this year. We can offer only a limited amount of jobs,” noted social studies teacher and Water World Bookkeeper, Kasey Nunn, “The economy may change but Water World never does.” Being near Northglenn High School, students also have an advantage on commuting distance. Students also benefit from flexible scheduling, sick days, and vacation time.

“The best thing that Water World does for the community is that it’s very supportive of its students,” said Nunn. “They do a good job of working with kids who are playing sports and giving them vacation time.” While working at Water World students also get the opportunity to work and interact with other kids, whether it means preparing hamburgers and hotdogs, cleaning up spills, handling the cash, greeting guests, or life guarding. “An advantage of Water World would be getting to know Northglenn people better as well as getting to know other people,” said Nunn. Students not only get the chance to earn work experience but they can also earn bonuses at the end of the season.

Depending on their status students can earn bonuses ranging from Best Buy to Target gift cards, to other electronics.

Water World also offers their guests residential discounts, free parking as well as the opportunity to bring their own food to the park.

Water World Opened on Memorial Day weekend and will close on Labor Day weekend. Water World is a one of a kind amusement park.
